Overview

Beard and eyebrow transplantation moves individual hair follicles, usually from the back of the scalp, into sparse or empty areas. Because the face is seen up close, the result depends on the right lines, finely selected grafts and each follicle placed at a natural angle.

During planning, the cheek and neck lines of the beard, or the start, arch and tail of the brows, are drawn together with you according to your proportions. The direction and density of your existing hair guide the design, so new hair blends with what is already there.

The procedure is performed under local anaesthesia in sterile conditions, led by your physician, with no hospital stay. After your check and first aftercare the next day, you are ready to fly home.

Who is it for?

  • Anyone with a sparse or patchy beard, or areas where it does not grow
  • People with thin, short or asymmetric eyebrows
  • Those with gaps in the beard or brows from a scar, burn or past injury
  • Anyone whose brows have thinned after years of plucking or waxing
  • Adults in good general health with sufficient donor hair at the back of the scalp

Techniques & options

01

Beard transplant

The cheek line, chin and neckline are planned to match the density of your existing beard. Follicles harvested by FUE are placed with a DHI implanter or fine micro-incisions, following the natural angle of each area.

02

Eyebrow transplant

Fine single-hair grafts are placed at a very shallow angle to the skin: upwards at the start of the brow, then outwards and slightly downwards along the body and tail. This recreates a brow's natural direction and layered texture.

03

Moustache, sideburns and scars

A moustache, sideburns or small gaps from scarring can be treated on their own or with a beard transplant. Blood supply in scar tissue is assessed first, and a second session is planned if needed.

How it works

  1. 1

    Online assessment

You send photos of your face and the back of your scalp; your physician assesses suitability and prepares a personal preliminary plan.

  2. 2

    Arrival and consultation

You are met at the airport and settled into your hotel. Your beard or brow lines are drawn together in front of the mirror, and the necessary blood tests are carried out.

  3. 3

    Procedure day

The procedure takes 2–6 hours under local anaesthesia, depending on the area, and you return to your hotel the same day.

  4. 4

    Check and aftercare

The next day the grafts are checked, the area is cleaned for the first time and your home routine is explained, with your coordinator beside you at every step.

  5. 5

    Flight home and follow-up

You fly home with your aftercare products and instructions. Online follow-ups continue for 12 months.

Recovery timeline

  1. Days 1–3

    First days

Redness and tiny crusts form around the grafts; after an eyebrow transplant, mild swelling may appear around the eyes. You follow your aftercare without touching the area.

  2. Days 5–10

    Crusts shed

The crusts fall away on their own — usually a little sooner on the brows than the beard — and redness fades. Most people return to social plans by the end of this period.

  3. Weeks 2–8

    Shock loss

Some of the transplanted hairs may shed temporarily. This is expected: the follicles stay in place and prepare to grow new hair.

  4. Months 3–6

    New growth

New hairs emerge fine and gradually thicken. This is when you begin trimming your brows regularly.

  5. Months 9–12

    Final result

The hairs mature and your beard or brows reach their final density and appearance.

Frequently asked questions

Will the transplanted hairs keep growing like scalp hair?
Yes. Follicles taken from the scalp keep their scalp-hair character, so brows in particular need trimming every few weeks. In a beard the difference usually disappears within your normal grooming.
Where are the grafts taken from, and will it show?
Grafts are usually taken from the back of the scalp, choosing especially fine, single hairs for the brows. As relatively few are needed, the donor area heals quickly and is usually not noticeable once your hair grows back.
How many grafts will I need?
It depends on the size of the area, your existing hair and the density you have in mind. Brows usually need far fewer grafts than a beard; the exact plan is agreed together after your examination.
When can I shave or wear make-up?
Until the crusts have gone, no razor, make-up or skincare touches the treated area. The beard can usually be trimmed with clippers after day ten; razors and brow make-up wait for your physician's advice.
Does the cause of my brow or beard loss matter?
Yes. If there is an underlying cause such as a thyroid condition or alopecia areata, it is assessed first; a transplant makes sense once the loss is stable. That is why your consultation includes a dermatological examination.
What are the risks and possible side effects?
Redness, mild swelling and crusting settle within days, and temporary shock loss is expected. Infection, ingrown hairs or hairs growing in an unwanted direction are uncommon; angles and aftercare are planned to keep these risks low.
